Viera

"The Viera may begin as part of the Wood, but it is not the only end that we may choose."
—Fran

The Viera have rabbit-like features, including long ears and supple limbs. Due to their long feet, all Viera wear high heels all the time. The Viera also have a heightened sense of smell, which can put them at a disadvantage against some of Ivalice's smellier monsters.

The Viera's ears not only allow them to hear over great distances, they also allow them to listen to the voices of the spirit world. They can put this ability to great use, either to communicate with the world around them, or to summon monsters from other worlds. Furthermore, the Viera have approximately three times the lifespan of Humes; they can be more than 50 years old and still be in their prime.

All Viera have tanned-skin and light-colored hair. In Final Fantasy XII, the Viera have silver hair; those who chose to live among Humes colored their hair to either brown or black, in Revenant Wings, a mixed breed has blonde hair, whilst in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance they have green, purple and white hair, though as white hair is rarer, it's considered a blessing among the Viera. Only one Viera is seen with white hair in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Shara.

The Viera live deep within the woods; male and female Viera live separately from each other and only make contact and communication when the need arises, though this may not be necessary due to their lifespan which is three times that of Humes. Viera have superb eyesight compared to that of Humes. It is said that they can spot their prey from as far as 10 km (6.21 miles) distance. Not to forget their sense of hearing, this allows them to tell the difference in footsteps which comes in handy if they are being hunted themselves. All Viera allies, with the exception of Fran, are weak to Earth.

Having lost their ancient homelands to war over 450 years ago, some of them began to question their way of life and went off to live among the Humes. This went against their law, referred to as the "Green Word", which forbids contact with the world outside. According to Jote, Fran's sister and the leader of the Viera who remained in Eruyt Village, once a Viera breaks this law, they are considered Viera no more and are regarded as outcasts. They are shown to be able to communicate with "the Wood", meaning that the Golmore Jungle might be an actual living entity. An outcast soon loses their ability to communicate with it however, like Fran.

As with the Bangaa, the Viera are divided into two sub-branches; the light-skinned Veena Viera and the dark-skinned Rava Viera.

"Oft called the People of the Wood, the Viera are a lithe and swift race. Like humes, they can fill a great variety of roles on the battlefield."

Hume

"I am simply myself. No more and no less. And I want only to be free."
—Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca

Called Humes, they are the most common race in Ivalice. They have no real special abilities, and have the second shortest life span of any race in Ivalice, next to the Aegyl. Despite this, they have managed to set up large Empires and Kingdoms all over Ivalice.

Baknamy

The Baknamy are a green-skinned humanoid race. Their bodies are relatively small in stature; even as an adult, their height is only the size of a child Hume. After the kingdom of Nabradia ceased to exist, they designated the Necrohol of Nabudis as their stronghold. The Baknamy are sensitive to the air that they breathe, and living where the air is polluted due to the city's destruction forces them to wear gas masks. The poorer and less fortunate Baknamy commit crimes to earn a living, targeting adventurers and travelers, causing Humes to view them as a despicable race.

The Garif

The Garif of Final Fantasy XII are depicted as large, thick-furred appreciators of nature and the arts of war, but disliking unnecessary violence. They have high smelling and hearing senses, which make them able hunters. The Garif prefer to adorn themselves with natural ornaments of animal bones and stones over crafted objects, with the exception of a traditional mask which is worn from birth to death. Their villages are sparsely located in the Bancour Region, and each is governed by a council led by a High Elder. Relations with other races are peaceful but rare. Garif merchants are known to trade with the nomads of Giza Plains and the Dalmascans, exchanging items such as Bancour spices. In ancient times, the Occuria granted the Garif nethicite, however the Garif's dislike for violence hindered them from using its power.

Seeq and Bangaa

The Seeq are a powerful and agile porcine race possessing low intellect and described as barely able to speak human languages. Though somewhat cowardly, they are often hired as mercenaries, guards, or hunters, with a significant amount going into thievery. The Seeq are also attracted by shiny objects, often adorning themselves with such.

The Bangaa are a lizard-like race, dominant over all of Ivalice. They have long faces, scaly skin, and tough limbs. Due to all these factors, the Bangaa are considered the brute force of all the races in Ivalice. The Bangaa have both male and females, but it is impossible to tell the two apart, until they actually start talking.

While they do have lizard-like qualities, it is considered the greatest insult to call a Bangaa a lizard. This is because of another race called the lizardmen, who are more primitive and violent than the Bangaa. However, some people will still refer to Bangaas as lizards, when none are around.

Moogles

Moogles are a very common sight in Final Fantasy XII, since they are one of the major races they appear in every city as background characters. The most infamous encounter being the six Moogle siblings: Montblanc is the head of clan Centurio, Nono serving as Balthier's mechanic, Gurdy running the Chocobo stables while her twin brother Hurdy and the two other brothers (Sorbet and Horne) operate a transportation system in Rabanastre that allows the player's characters to teleport to other parts of the city.

Known for their small bat-like wings, soft hair covering their bodies and the colored pom-pom on their heads, the Moogles are around 80-120 cm tall. In certain regions, Moogles call themselves with the pronoun "mog", but typically they end their sentences with the word "Kupo". Their intelligence and lifestyles are similar to Humes, which makes it easy for Moogles to live amongst the Humes. With their dexterous hands, they are knowledgeable in the field of engineering. It is said that Moogles built the first airship, a masterpiece of technological advancement. There are Moogles that are so advanced that they are able to learn the ultimate technology called Etoria. Most Moogles contribute to society with their great engineering capabilities. Not all Moogles become engineers; there are a few who become knights or mages. Throughout history, Moogle technology have been used in wars amongst the Humes, the different races and against monsters.

Located south of the continent of Ordalia is the city of Goug, a major Moogle city defended by Moogle-operated iron clad Walkers. The Walkers are also used in excavation and mining, and people would mistake them to be robots. Mog Walkers are also used as transportation. Humes, Bangaas and other races would overlook Goug as a normal city, and won't notice a quarter populated by little Moogles, and within are unidentified technology installed that even Moogles do not understand.

Valios (OC race!!)

The Valios are a type of Hume, but living in Mist changed them slightly. They are stronger than Humes and are generally smarter too. Most Valios look exactly like a Hume, but the difference between their physical features is that the Valios's eyes change upon their current emotion. One minute it could be a calm blue and the next it could be a fiery red to show their anger.

They are a peaceful race, but when called forth to battle they fight courageously. With the ability to learn quick, they know how to use many kinds of weapons and fight with all their might. Due to the war though, most Valios live deep in the mountain-forests of Sonvalia, avoiding the empire as much as possible as though not to be forced into the military.

The mountain-forests of which they come from are far to the West of Nabradia. Over time, a slight Mist in the area infused with Hume blood, creating the Valios. The homes of the Valios are much like big tree-houses. Parts of the nation is covered in water too, for there are thousands of waterfalls, rivers, and lakes in the land of the Valios. Because of this, many homes are built on stilts above the water. The capital city of Sturhs is located in the center of a massive lake. It's like a huge mote to help protect it, and the mountainsides also protect it like a giant fortess.

When the war first started though, the Valios didn't want their nation involved at all. When Nabradia fell though, the nation was forced to take up arms. They were outnumbered 20 to 1, but fought valiantly. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. The royal family was captured and the capital fell to the Empire.

Now the entire nation is under Archadia's rule, but news of rebellions have spread through Ivalice.
